Full Biography

Ruth Michel is a first-year Master’s student at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim School of Music and Performing Arts studying Choral Conducting under Dr. Erynn Millard. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan University. Her dedication to musical excellence is exhibited in the positions she’s held such as Graduate Assistant at Florida International University, music director for Roberts Wesleyan’s opera production of Dido and Aeneas, and student conductor for both their treble and TB choirs. She has participated in various vocal and conducting masterclasses, most notably the 2024 ACDA Eastern Region Undergraduate Conducting Masterclass with clinician Dr. Jeffrey Douma. In 2024, she also participated as a fellow in the Atlanta Summer Conducting Institute. At Roberts Wesleyan, she achieved runner-up status in their Concerto-Aria Competition in 2022 and 2023 and earned the Presser Scholar award for the 2023-2024 academic year.
